How to choose the best make-up remover

Make-up remover is essential for a correct cleansing of the skin of the face and eyes: choosing a product that takes care of our skin is important. There are many types of makeup removal products on the market. Here you will find a small guide to choose the most suitable makeup remover or perhaps to prepare it with natural products.

How to choose your make-up remover

Choosing the right make-up remover for your skin means taking care of it, because removing make-up in the evening before going to bed is the first beauty treatment we give to the skin.

Not removing make-up from the face and eyes can cause clogging of pores or impurities on the face.

The choice is to be made based on the type of skin: oily, dry or combination.

  • for dry skin we recommend make-up removers in the form of cleansing milk, oil or butter.
  • for oily or combination skin we recommend a two-phase make-up remover or micellar water

Types of make-up removers

Once there was only one method to remove make-up: using cleansing milk and at least the tonic and it was necessary to use a product for the face and one for the eyes. Today the market has evolved and we have the following make-up removers available:

  • cleanser
  • make-up remover butter
  • make-up remover wipes
  • micellar water
  • oil

Cleansing milk make-up remover

Cleansing milk is the creamy texture remover suitable for those with basically dry or normal skin.

To whom it is recommended

Cleansing milk is recommended for those with normal or dry skin. We recommend the use of natural milk, without chemicals. There is also colored cleansing milk on the market.

How to use

It is used in two ways:

  • apply a drop on a cotton pad  and with this remove the make-up, impurities and dirt of a city day and rinse.
  • massage it directly on your face like a cream and then use the pad to remove the residues and rinse.

Butter make-up remover

Among the make-up removers on the market there is also a type based on cocoa butter : it is a compound based on vegetable oils that has the consistency of butter. As soon as it comes into contact with the skin, it melts and becomes creamy.

To whom it is recommended

It is recommended for those with couperose and rosacea skin , those with dry skin or for mature women.

How to use

They are practical makeup removers to use: they are massaged directly on the face and eyes without dripping or greasing and removing all dirt well. They must then be removed with a wet cloth.

Make-up remover wipes

The make-up remover wipes were created to facilitate those who are frequently away from home or simply have little time.

Today there are many types, suitable for eyes, face, based on micellar water, for dry skin …
In reality, they have a reduced effectiveness both on the skin and on the eyes: they are good only if used every now and then out of necessity.

It is a liquid make-up remover made up of micelles (surfactant molecules) that hold make-up and remove it in a single step.

To whom it is recommended

Micellar water is recommended for all skin types, both for delicate and for oily , dry, more or less young skin, and for combination or impure skin.

How to use

It should be applied with a cotton pad, rinsing is not necessary. For the more attentive, you can spray thermal water to moisturize the face.

Micellar water can be in the form of:

Cleansing oil

Using oil to remove make-up is an ancient habit. The best known are:

  • coconut oil , is moisturizing, + recommended for removing waterproof make-up and for removing make-up from the face.

To whom it is recommended

The oil-based make-up remover is suitable for those with dry skin. Cleansing oil is recommended for all skin types in the summer when the face is subjected to multiple washes, sweat, more heat and the sun.
